# ?? Guide: Remove Apple-ID and Reset Mac

### Step 1: Sign out of Apple-ID & disable “Find My Mac”

1. Open **System Settings**
2. Click your name at the top (Apple ID section)
3. Go to **iCloud**
4. Scroll down and click **“Show All”**
5. Click on **“Find My Mac”** and disable it
6. Enter your **Apple ID password** to confirm
7. Back in Apple ID section: click **“Sign Out”**

### Step 2: Factory Reset the Mac

1. **Shut down** the Mac
2. **Hold the Power button** until **“Options”** appears
3. Choose **“Options” > “Continue”**
4. From the menu, open **Disk Utility**
5. Select the main drive (e.g. *Macintosh HD*) > **Erase**
   - Format: **APFS**
6. Close Disk Utility
7. Choose **Reinstall macOS**
8. Follow the prompts to wipe & reinstall the system


**Note:** If the Apple ID is not removed, the **Activation Lock** will remain active.  
This means the Mac cannot be fully used or set up by a new owner.
